 supermART 2.0

there was a lot to see at this year's supermART. it was hard to focus on one artist's work as there were so many colours and so many people around you. in the end, i liked these artists the most:

eva wuensch
ana de lima
luisa stoemer

check out their websites, they're worth a visit!

every day i open my door and the first thing that is coming across my nose is the scent of freshly brewed coffee. the dog is watching me carefully whilst i try to step down the stairs as quiet as possible in order not to wake up the others. and when i pass the kitchen a friendly voice wishes me a good morning. and then i go to the bathroom, part the curtain and look at a garden full of flowers and fruit.

can you imagine what it is like to wake up in the morning feeling like you're living in a swedish children's book? it's great. and i can't help to think that this is what home should feel like. being exactly at the spot where you want to be, everything feels warm and right and at its place. i'm very blessed being able to spend time at this happy house with these very happy people in it. and every once in a while i catch myself standing in the hallway looking at everything around me thinking, that all of this will be gone soon - but it's just for one second and then i go into the kitchen with its friendly voices asking me about my day.

 berlin en blanc + noir

the walls were blossoming at my old berlin neighbourhood when i left three years ago and i was happy to discover that they are still blossoming these days.

 berlin en rouge

spending time in berlin was like spending time in different worlds. in the morning i was walking through prenzlauer berg's preppy streets, stumbled across a small market selling vegetables, fruit and beautiful spring flowers, at noon i ate falafel at kreuzberg's myfest, just to spend my afternoon at an art gallery in mitte. in the evening we cooked at my sister's and i fell asleep in lichtenberg, my head full of new memories.

please listen to 'them' by nils frahm. such wonderful music.

 berlin en rose

when i arrived in berlin my sister fetched me from the bus station and we drove home through the night. we passed neuk├Âlln, where i used to live. i recognized my old washing salon, my turkish baker, the streets i walked along on a daily basis. at first i felt excited and somewhere deep inside of me something remembered that this is what i once called home. but as time moved along the feeling vanished. berlin seemed strange to me, strangely familiar and unfamiliar at the same time. sitting on the suburban train, looking outside the window, hearing those noises, that are so distinctive of berlin, seemed like an echo from a long lost time and made me feel even more at home at the place i'm in just right now. i knew i was on the right track when i left berlin.

 april showers bring may flowers

the air is full of sweet scents, the trees are painted with bright pastel colours and the sun tells stories about hot summer days that are still to come.
