 a great view

stunning views and a great bar at lanzarote's most northern point 'mirador del rio'. the island to be seen in the last pic is la graciosa, 'the lovely one'. it's spain's smallest inhabited island and a true beauty. next time i'll show you some more.

i hope you are not getting tired of my holiday photos... i took sooooo many. there are a few more to go and then we'll be back in the world of today again.

 black

black sand in my shoes and beneath my toes...

yesterday was a day of first times. i ate my first ice cream this year and saw my very first butterfly (as always a little yellow one). the sun was out and the people flooded the cafés wearing sun glasses. and you could feel it in the air, too: spring is here. can't wait to wear my happy sandals again.

 an artist's house

the sun was already setting when i visited césar manrique's former house and i was very lucky to be able wandering around the museum with only a handful of people. the buildings are located in the midst of a lava field in tahiche and are centered around some lava bubbles, which house beautifully coloured rooms each. there's a white and a red room and a backyard with an amazing pool landscape (look here). walking from room to room i couldn't help but wondering what it must have been like living in such a piece of art.

 teguise

while i was strolling around the old town of teguise i came across a place that looked like a crazy graveyard but turned out to be the garden of an old artist, who used it as some kind of exhibition space. as lanzarote is a small island, teguise was on my way for quite a few times and this garden turned my head every time i drove by.

 at famara beach

...a few impressions of famara beach. if you look closely, you will see the shapes of la graciosa somewhere on the horizon.

these days it's kind of hard for me to find the right words and write properly. my mind is constantly at work as i am busy sorting out my new life in nuremberg, trying to settle down and find a rhythm. i'll try to post more frequently even if there'll be more photographs and less text. promised.

have a nice weekend!
